The Hue of Me… this post is mere serendipity…because…

1. When I clicked this pic, I never had a notion about the explanation that I am about to give to the photo 🙂

2. When I logged in to my blog to upload the pic to push into my drafts( which I often do nowadays since I am lazy to even type a title for those pics !!!) , I just had a glance on the Reader and found the Weekly Photo Challenge for this week- the hue of you.

Wait…doesn’t that pic I was about to upload has a hue of me? Doesn’t this photo remind me of who I am, where I belong to and where I long to be forever? I definitely think so.

The colours in this pic stir up in me the memories of my homeland, India, which is best represented by the tricolour- saffron, white and green. We were taught in school that saffron stands for courage and sacrifice, white for peace and truth and green for faith and chivalry.

What else best represents me now, in these days?

I am scraping together all my courage, sacrificing a lot of things I yearned for, for the sake of peace in our lives, striving hard to be a true and close-to-perfect life partner and mother, keeping faith in God that we be taken care of during this trying time.

When everything falls in place and the sunshine is back in our life, India is where I want to be-my abode, my sanctuary, my land of tricolour !!!

2 years !!! …and counting

The day marks our second anniversary in the Windy City. Am I in love with this place is a question that still ponders me.

When we came here my li’l one was a 3 month old baby who could only cry and stick on to my lap. Now when I see the big boy hopping around, building up the toy blocks, riding his trike,  running to me saying ” Ammaaa… huggie”(‘hug’ he means 😉 ), I feel, time sure has bolted away.

As I have always wished for, I desperately want to go back to my home sweet home…but Chicago will be missed. As the place that turned me to a supermom, as the place that witnessed my li’l pea grow up, as the place that turned us from mere individuals to selfless mom and dad, as the place that helped me build up my passions…I will have to agree…yes, I am in love with the Chi-town !!

You can find a lot of Chicago snaps in my are some more 🙂

Awaiting spring

No..I haven’t abandoned my blog. Off late, the days have shrunk and time is flying. The weather is too rough to roam around with my camera and the same makes me feel dull and sleepy in the afternoons when I usually peek into my blog. I have missed a lot of updates from my fellow bloggers..I have broken my ‘Post a week’ vow…I wait anxiously for the be out with my camera…for the lovely sunshine..for the buds and blooms..for the green…for my dearest Amma & Achan who are coming all the way from India to be with us for some time…and, above all, the spring in our life… Cheers !!!

Scary !!!

Every one of us has certain fears and apprehensions. For some it may be insects and other living entities, for some others it may be vehicles and speed and the list goes on.

As far as I am concerned, my ideas of fear are quite lengthy and distinct.

During my school days, I used to be scared of ghosts (did I mention I ‘am’ even now? 😛  ).

I become fainthearted when I am standing alone in the dark or walking alone through a deserted street.

Unlike many other girls, I am not scared of cockroaches and spiders, but, yes, cats and dogs drive me crazy.

When I found this week’s Wild Weekly Photo Challenge theme, I knew I could write hundreds of pages about it, but all they need are photos 😉

I’m participating in the online adventure travel and photography magazine’s Wild Weekly Photo Challenge for bloggers. This week’s Challenge is: Scary!

This photo was taken during the ‘ Scarecrow festival’ at St.Charles. Those eyes were so scary to me that I literally thanked my 55-300 lens or I would have never attempted to go near ‘him’ and click this one.

People love these rides…but not me..!!! I am scared of it a simple carousel or the huge ferris wheel.

Height scares me !!! I feel light headed and can feel a train ride inside my stomach once I am a few feet above ground level.

My list of “Scary” is never gonna end soon..So shall be back with another post.

I am back !!!

Finally 2013 is here…with hopes and dreams..yet another year added to my life…and I truly wish this year be remarkable to me as well as all my loved ones in the best possible way.

We had a lovely white Christmas and even now the snow hasn’t melted.

Here are some snow snaps from Chicago.

It’s been 4 days now and I have sticked on to my resolutions.. I wish I can do it all through my life 🙂

So once again “Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right”…
